Ragtag Cinema and Race Matters, Friends present The Force by director Peter Nicks on Oct. 10th at 6pm with a discussion with Traci Wilson-Kleekamp of Race Matters, Friends, MU Law Professor David Mitchell, and Columbia Police Department Chief of Police Geoff Jones.
Free and open to the public.
The Force goes deep inside the embattled Oakland Police Department as it struggles to reform amid a powder keg of local controversy. The film finds itself at the simultaneous rise of a reformation-minded police chief, the emergence of the Black Lives Matter movement, and a growing public demand for police accountability and racial justice in the city and across the nation.
Tickets to free events are available at our box office starting at noon the day of the show. No more than four free tickets will be given to one person.
A free ticket guarantees you a seat until 10 minutes before showtime and not after. If all tickets have been distributed and there are open seats at 10 till, we will start seating the theater from the waiting list (queue). Ticket holders will continue to be admitted at this time if seats are available. This policy allows us to start on time and give the audience a distraction-free experience.
